Celebrity fundraising for events

07 Nov

If you are looking to organise a fundraising event on a grand scale by hiring a celebrity, – be it a famous local artist, a well-known Entrepreneur, a sports figure or else – I have gathered for you few tips to help you reach out these celebrities. However, if this is something you deem too difficult to do, be aware that there are agencies who can do the work for you!

First of all, be aware it has a cost, so try to choose carefully which celebrity you want to invite to your event and find innovative ways to avoid unnecessary additional expenditures.

These articles should give some valuable tips on how to approach any kinds of celebrity:

Secondly, you can also decide to use a crowd fundraising website to raise funds through celebrities and spread the words about it on social networks, like this one:

Thirdly, if you are looking for an Asian star with worldwide reputation, you may want to check the names’ list on this page:

However, you may opt to outsource the celebrity search to an agency like CTI and AAT:

I was hoping to have a celebrity donate their time and appear as an honoree. I know many might think that is a long shot, but they are people who support causes all the time, and we are non-profit. Is there any advice on how to reach out to managers? I can’t even seem to find out who the managers are.

Hi Rebecca, I’m afraid I haven’t hired myself a celebrity to my events so far, so I won’t be able to give you more guidance on this. However, I would recommend you find a well-known local figure to act as a celebrity as this will keep the costs down. Check the link about fundraising ideas in the post and/or try to reach out a talent agency in your area, if that’s something you’d like to do. Regards, Emeline

      Hi Rebecca,

I was thinking that this website could be of interest to you: It’s a crowdfunding platform for social entrepreneurs, changemakers and nonprofits. Best regards, Emeline
