Dublin Circus Project is a non profit organisation working to bring the circus arts to life in Dublin. They are based at Bannow Business Centre on Bannow Road, Cabra and keep expanding and buying new equipment. For this, they organise regular fundraising kickstart projects and perform live for you!

I attended their event on Saturday 31st October 2015 at Back Loft Gallery, St Augustine Street, Dublin 8.

B-Xtreme break dance crew live performance at Bray Summerfest 2014

As you can see from the below picture, Bray Summer Festival lines up lots of cool acts for both adults and children. If you haven’t made it this weekend, don’t worry as it will still continue until the start of August 2014!

Bray Summerfest Programme 2014

I have had the pleasure to attend the B-Xtreme high-energy acrobatic interactive break dancing show. At the Bray Summerfest, the crew was composed of 3 dancers: Anthony Ready Rosa, Christopher Cuba Munoz and Jose Mini Collon. They come from New York City, USA.

These award winning performers have not only brought dance from the streets but have exhibited their talents to colleges, festivals, half-time, shows film and special events (they performed at the well known America’s Got Talent TV show in 2013) around the world. Their shows are packed with acrobatic stunts, hilarious antics, and the hottest dance moves, and by combining their cutting-edge dance choreography with performing talents, they deliver an unforgettable experience that leaves crowds cheering for more.

B-Xtreme breakdancing crew

I have filmed their live performance on Saturday 12th July at Bray Summerfest 2014, in which they both deliver a brilliant dance route as well as getting the audience involved. So sit tight and watch the whole video!

If you are interested in following them or booking them for an event, check their website and facebook page below:

Cirkafrica – an african circus

I have recently been watching this amazing african circus on a French channel and would like to share with you a snippet of the show as well as information about its storyline, artists, touring dates, ect…

This circus is employing 50 artists, musicians, dancers, acrobats, contortionists, diabolos, jugglers, hat numbers, acrobatic balancing, tap-dancing, gum boots, hoops, bouncing balls, aerobatics, foot jugglers across Africa. Similarly to Le Cirque du Soleil’s concept, this circus doesn’t make use of animals.

The show lasts 2 hours and tells the story of José, an absent-minded pilot, who crashes lands in an unknown place that turns out to be Africa. Is he confronted by true hostile elements or is he simply conditioned by clichés? You will discover that once his fears are dispelled, he approaches the indigenous people who, in turn, also set aside their reservations to build a friendship with the pilot that will lead to true fraternity.

These african artists are touring in many places in France until the end of February 2013. For more information, check out this link and click on “réserver” next to the date and place of your choice to access the different rates (click on “dates suivantes” at the bottom of the list to view all available show dates/places):

http://www.coullier.com/artistes/83-cirkafrika—les-etoiles-du-cirque-africain

Finally, you will find below the teaser advertisement as well as a video reportage about the artists, their background/country of residence, how they trained and got recruited.

Anybody tempted to go and watch one of their shows, now ?
